We must go back to agriculture as oil revenue shrinks - Buhari - Vanguard News

Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigerians must stop paying mere lip service to agriculture, as crude oil and gas exports will no longer be sufficient as the country’s major revenue earner.
The president gave the charge at an audience with Dr Kanayo Nwanze, the Nigerian born President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.
“It’s time to go back to the land. We must face the reality that the petroleum we had depended on for so long will no longer suffice. We campaigned heavily on agriculture, and we are ready to assist as many want to go into agricultural ventures,’’ he said.
Buhari pledged that his administration would also cut short the long bureaucratic processes that Nigerian farmers had to go through to get any form of assistance from government.

INTERVIEW: Nigeria to lead in Lighting the World through Renewable Energy - Premium Times Nigeria

INTERVIEW: Nigeria to lead in Lighting the World through Renewable Energy - Premium Times Nigeria

Clean, cheap, inexhaustible sources of electricity – every country needs it. But existing investments in power grids built on fossil fuels keeps most countries tied to costly, polluting energy sources. So who can lead the way to save-the-people/save-the planet innovations and practices. Renewable energy experts are looking to Nigeria.
Viewing Africa’s most populous country and largest economy from the air at night is to see darkness everywhere. Only India has more people without electricity than Nigeria. Yet Nigerians spend some $5 billion annually on fuel for noisy, dirty diesel generators or for even more polluting charcoal. And still most people live in the dark.

That crisis is also an opportunity says Bahijjatu Hadiza Abubakar, a mechanical engineer with a graduate degree in environmental engineering. She heads the renewable energy programme in Nigeria’s federal Ministry of the Environment and recently talked to AllAfrica about plans to build a clean-energy grid. She is an example that although President Buhari has not yet appointed cabinet members – while he conducts a wholesale investigation into official corruption – important work is being done at national and local levels.

We live like rats, yet Nigerians want us to be their friends –Policemen

He was drenched with sweat by the time he wriggled himself through the narrow entrance of his room into the passageway. Looking very depressed and drowsy that Thursday afternoon, he dragged himself along the hole-ridden passage and collapsed into the rickety sofa beside the staircase that leads to the upper floors in one of the buildings in the barracks.
With frustration written all over his face, Emma Uden (not real names), a sergeant in the police, kept muttering to himself, but dosed off few minutes later. Apparently disturbed by the music blaring in his neighbourhood, Uden could not but open his eyes feebly and intermittently.
His pain was obvious to anyone who came across him, but the reason for his frustration was largely unknown. However, as Uden would later tell our correspondent in a conversation he grudgingly consented to, since the apartment allotted to him in the barracks collapsed in June last year, he and his family had been living in the kitchen of one of the dilapidated buildings in Pedro police barracks, Somolu, Lagos. That was his main frustration.

WHAT DOES MLM STAND FOR?

MLM is the acronym for multi level marketing. It’s a way to deliver products by utilizing the power of people. These products and services are usually not sold through regular stores, but from individual homes of the sellers.
Those who get involved with this type of marketing can typically make a lot of money based on two factors. The first being their ability to work hard, and the second being their ability to stay connected, nurture and motivate their downline or distributors.

It is hard for anyone in this social media modern age not to have heard of multi level marketing, they are everywhere in our economy taking advantage and opportunities caused by the high rate of unemployment. If you belong to the set of people who like to attend FREE business seminars, or empowerment programmes with lots of goodies such as travelling for vacations outside the country, or you belong to the group who likes the food herbal/supplement or drugs, there is no hiding the fact that MLM marketers would have craved your indulgence one way or the other.
The way income is earned is like this example: Emeka joins a company offering people a great product. He gets involved with them, starts earning

TOP 11 REASONS WHY PEOPLE START A SMALL BUSINESS

According to Forbes, The SBA defines a small business as an enterprise having fewer than 500 employees and also, that there are almost 28 million small businesses in the US and over 22 million are self employed with no additional payroll or employees (these are called non-employers). As a matter of fact, it shows that the driving force in any developing economy remains the small business enterprises which constitute the real sectors. In the light of the foregoing, find the top 9 reasons why people start a small business.
1.     DESIRE TO BE YOUR OWN BOSS: The ultimate dream of taking control of events around you without resorting to taking orders from anyone has necessitated the urge for starting a small business. SMEs in advanced countries are major contributors to private sector employment. Empirical studies revealed that small businesses contribute to over 55% of GDP and over 65% of total employment in high income countries, they account for more than 60% of GDP and over 70% of total employment in low income countries while they contribute about 70% of GDP and 95% of total employment in middle income countries (OECD, 2004)

3.     FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION: In order to fulfill certain financial consideration in life, people start a small business as full-time endeavors or as a part-time income earning business ventures. The moment financial obligations increases and the salary seems inadequate to fulfill those responsibilities, the frustration that comes with it ignite the spark to start a small business ventures to augment the salary
4.     FRUSTRATION WITH PRESENT EMPLOYER: The inherent frustrations associated with working 9-5 job are a growing factor for starting a small business.  The moment an employee start complaining about his job not being attractive anymore, it could lead or force such a person to start a business of his/her own. . According to a report released by Gallup, the Washington, D.C. based polling organization, there are twice as many “actively disengaged” workers in the world as there are “engaged” workers who love their jobs.
5.     OPPORTUNISTIC CIRCUMSTANCES: If an opportunity in the economy triggers the desire to start a small business and the requisite skill, tools, funds and wherewithal is available at the very moment, a small business set-up could surface taking advantage of such opportunity. E.g, the Ebola crisis in 2014 which made many to start the business of Hand sanitizers
6.     LACK OF GROWTH IN THE PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT: Once it is perceived that an employee is not growing in a particular work environment, it usually present the opportunity to start a small business where growth and development is not dependent

The case of the Land in dispute is still in court and the court has stopped Redeem from continuing with the construction why are they still raising fund for such? Hypocrisy IN THE NAME OF GOD at the highest level.....See my reasons below

Villagers Cry Out Over Annexure by Redeemed Church
Daniels Ekugo
In a bid to build the largest church auditorium in the world, The Redeemed Christian Church of God may be heading towards serious disputes as 9 villages has petitioned to international organizations, media houses, corporate organizations and the court in Nigeria over the annexation  and displacement of villagers by the church.
The over 300 families living at Agunforye, Ososanya, Isaga Kekere, Isaga Nla, Ebute Agbara, Pagbo, Igbonla Adeleye, Igbonla akinremi and Olaparun villages in Makun area of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State made this known in a statement signed by various representatives of the communities.
In the statement, Hon Oladele Benjamin Adisa, speaking on behalf of the 9 villages, said “The affected families are the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations of the earliest settlers in the 9 villages over 200 years ago on the vast land purportedly acquired by the church, which is claimed as owners by Otetumo Agbabo Shoole Agufon and Ososanya families of Itunmeko area in Ikorodu, Lagos state with Pastor Amos Oshin and Chief Sikiru Ososanya as the heads of the two families respectively.”
On the annexure of their land, Adisa explained that “In a suit filed in Court 3 Sagamu HCS/105/14 by the said land owners against the church on illegal encroachment as they have exceeded the acquisition of 1,900 acres sold to them, of which the church agreed to, it was however noticed that the church has already exceeded the boundaries sold to them to the tune of almost 4,000 acres. Immediately this was noticed, the church went in for the kill the next day, demolishing properties, cash and food crops which are the principal source of income for the villagers.”
Speaking further, Adisa in a pathetic mood said “We lost everything. We just want

SHOCKING DISCOVERY: KILLING CHILDREN IN THE NAME OF WITCHES AND WIZARDS IN NIGERIA

I did my youth Service(2005) in Akwa-Ibom State, Urue-Uffong Oruko in Oron Local Govt, and i can tell you this set of people still carry out barbaric acts of lynching people in the name of witches and wizards. Sometime when we as Youth Corpers are teaching in the classroom in the school, the villagers sometimes storms the school in a commando style and takes away a supposed witch or wizard. This trend is even recognized by the State Government because i think they have a parastatal for witches and wizards.

SHOCKING REVELATION: Electricity Generation Has Increased To 4000mw says FG.

SHOCKING REVELATION: Electricity Generation Has Increased To 4000mw says FG.

"At the end of 2014, China had 114,763 MW of wind power installed. Several countries have achieved relatively high levels of wind power penetration, such as 39% of stationary electricity production in Denmark, 18% in Portugal, 16% in Spain, 14% in Ireland and 9% in Germany in 2010".............Wikipedia

Does anyone really knows how many megawatts Nigeria need to meet energy demands?

In 2013, There were revelations by the then Power Minister, Prof Chinedu Nebo that at a time Nigeria has shifted the target date for generating 10,000 mega watts from December of that year, to the first quarter of 2014, he said about 200,000MW is needed to meet current energy demands.

Many question beg for answers here, why is the Government not  diversify its energy mix by increasing power generated from wind, solar and other bio-mass to reduce dependence on gas and hydro powered plants?

Read about the giant stride in Denmark Power sector...http://qz.com/450737/denmarks-wind-farms-generated-140-of-the-countrys-electricity-needs-yesterday/

Why has the Government not revoked the sham called privatization of the power sector during the Jonathan era and completely review it to see what works and discard what is not working?

Why has the Government not concentrate more on power Generation rather than Power/Energy

N1.35 Billion Fraud: You Mean I Am Now A Prisoner? Ex Governor Lamido Asks

Earlier, the defence counsel, Mr. Effiong, had argued that remanding the accused persons in prison would amount to trampling on their fundamental human rights.
He pleaded that they be sent to either of EFCC’s facilities in Abuja or Kano.
"However, counsel to EFCC, Chile Okoroma, objected to the plea, saying EFCC’s facilities were full to capacity both in Kano and Abuja".

Two things caught my attention in this matter.

Firstly, The Ex Governor even has the temerity to ask if he is now a Prisoner, this country would have witnesses catastrophic situation if Buhari had not emerged President because the corrupt leaders would have continued business as usual

Secondly, EFCC Counsel said their facilities were full to capacity both in Kano and Abuja, hen hen!, so there are so many culprits in EFCC dragnet and yet no change in the corruption perception index of the country, i think Buhari needs to change all the personnel in the EFCC institution because they all must have been infested with a common virus worse than EBOLA.

INFORMATION MARKETING: THE MOST PROFITABLE ONLINE BUSINESS

In the last few weeks, I have been privileged to receive so many calls from people who are interested in information about entrepreneurship, small business and start-ups. These requests were attributed to many articles I had published online about starting a business of your own with little or no capital; also, the recent economic downturn has necessitated the search for alternatives to paid employment. Majority of young and the active population makes use of the internet to source for information on virtually anything ranging from “how to”, “what”, “when” of anything imaginable. I won’t be surprised to see people ask Google search engine what President Buhari ate as breakfast. All these centers around information marketing.

When you make a living online, a lot of people won’t understand what it is you do.  Some of them will think you’re nothing more than a spammer - just because you work on the Internet.  You might even run into people who automatically assume you’re into promoting porn, because they think that’s all the Internet is used for!

You need to be prepared to deal with people like this.  Some of them may even be close friends and family members who are simply ignorant about the various marketing uses for the World Wide Web.

The first thing you need to explain to people is that very few people who work on the Internet are spammers.  Spammers actually make up a very, very small minority of those who make money online.

If you do any sort of email marketing, you should explain that every single person you send email to have signed up specifically to your newsletter, and clicked a link to confirm that they really want to be on your list.

Explain to them that subscribing to your newsletter is a lot like signing up for delivery

NO CAPITAL OR FUND? 7 WAYS TO EARN MONEY ONLINE BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE A PRODUCT

If you are fond of Waiting until you have a product of your own to make money online, it means you’re missing out on a lot of potential profit that you could be making while you get your own products ready.
You don’t want to waste the opportunity chasing banks and family friends who will provide the needed fund to commence your business. I have seen a whole lot of people with brilliant and promising business ideas but they were unable to actualize their dreams. Even before I found my way around the solution to creating means to make residual income before the main product it was an onerous task, I applied for Loans, Grants and fund solicitation from friends but none of those sources was fruitful.

However, you can still make money by the side with these tips pending when the BIG BANG! Happen. Here are the few steps you can take to realize your dream potentials:
1.     First, create a plan or a map of how much money you’d like to earn online and then take the steps to fulfill that plan. If you don’t have a plan or a marketing strategy to use to make money, then you won’t be as successful. See related plan http://hollalaycan.blogspot.com/2014/04/a-business-plan-for-set-up-of-nylon-and.html

2.     You don’t always have to go with what you know when you want to make money as an online entrepreneur. Pick a market or a niche than interests you. If it interests you, it’ll show through your efforts, and you can promote as an affiliate.

3.     If you can write, you can earn money writing for other online businesses or marketers while you’re building your own products. You can write blogs, reports, articles and even eBooks. And other service jobs are out there too – like building backlinks for

How Do You Know Who To Trust When Buying Online?

In the world of Internet marketing, there are a lot of unethical money-hungry scam artists preying on those who are ignorant about the industry.  They know you’re new, and they know you won’t realize you’ve been suckered until it’s too late.

So how does a newcomer to Internet marketing safeguard his or her pockets from the greedy, self-indulgent scams of an unscrupulous marketer?  First, you want to do a bit of background research.

If you land on a page where someone has recommended a course or tool that you feel will help accelerate your Internet marketing earnings, don’t buy on impulse.  You might regret it later and have to ask for a refund, or suck up the cost if no guarantee is offered.

Google can be your friend here. Type that marketer’s name into the search engines and see if there are any scam details. But beware!  One of the most common affiliate pre-pitches is to promote a product by using the scam approach initially and then building the product up with the detailed review.

You may see about 5 page’s worth of links if you type in [marketer’s name] and scam, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re real scam accounts. Always read the pages with care.

You also need to know that practically every marketer has a disgruntled customer.  Some people get angry if their download link doesn’t work and they don’t get a response within 30 minutes. Others intentionally try to sabotage the competition by posting poor reviews online.

You should be able to find as much positive information (in the form of praise) as you do bad reviews.  If not, it might be best to steer clear of that marketer since no one credible can endorse him (or her).

Never rely on their own claims (even screenshots of earnings can be manipulated).  And if you find them in a forum such as nairaland, don’t think that just because they have the highest post count, it means they’re the best marketer.

Get personal recommendations from other marketers.  If you want to find out who has the best affiliate marketing guide, ask in a forum and find out. Or, take the recommendation of a marketer you already trust, because if they provide you with a poor product recommendation, it tarnishes their own reputation, too.
