Rivers State POWA Chairperson Mrs. Ogunsakin Donates 36 Shops to Widows.

The POWA Chairperson of River State Command headed by Mrs. Chinyere Ogunsakin has conducted a fresh election into the Executive Office of POWA (Police Officers Wife Association). The election of various offices was conducted in POWA office on 15th March, 2014. In eye witness account, the election was attended by 150 Members who cut across all ranks and membership of the police force.
The affairs of POWA are to be directed by the new executives, Barrister Ngozi Anaogu was voted by the majority member of POWA as the Secretary. The Chairperson, in her welcome address said the essence of POWA is to give succour to people who are member and to encourage the less privileged to meet up in various areas. Mrs Chinyere Ogunsakin also stated her aim in the coming 5OTH anniversary of POWA to encourage the school and children participate in various talent shows which she believe is good so as to prepare the POWA children for a better future. The Chairperson also charge the POWA Secretariat to make sure to keep their records up to date to guide against corruption as her husband and the River State Command will not take excuse from anybody wanting.
Mrs. Ogunsakin on visit of the POWA Market at Mini Okoro Market said POWA is to give assistance to widow who are in petty trading and charging widow for the market space should be fair and moderate.
Mrs Ogunsakin at inspection of Eleke Ohia market condemned the idea of allocation the former executives were using especially neglecting the less privileged who she believes should be the beneficiary.
The Chairperson said at the Market that former allocation of the Elek Ohia market is hereby cancelled and the 36 Shops presently in Allocation would be solely for Widows who has lost their husband in various areas. She said the new executives will conduct list of genuine people who will be the beneficiaries. Mrs. Ogunsakin thanked the market women who sang various songs in Igbo that this idea is in consonance with her husband policy of given life to the people who will appreciate it better and valued. The market is for you not the executives.
Mrs ogunsakin encourage them to keep the barracks clean and enjoy peaceful cooperation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Tunde Ogunsakin in a courtesy visit to the Controller of Prison, Rivers State Command has break a jinx affecting the Prison Services Operations. In a visit he paid to the Controller of Prison, Mr. Patrick Ondoma at the Mile 4 Area Command of the prison service. The Controller in his speech welcomed the Police Commissioner to the Command and River State. He said Rivers State has been enjoying wonderful peace since his arrival.
 
The Controller eulogized the achievement of synergy the police has been rendering to the prison service. The Controller reef freed to police as the senior brother of the prison services in the security parlance. 
The Commissioner of Police, Compol Tunde Ogunsakin in his speech also praised the efforts of the prison service especially in the areas of preventing crimes and keeping people who the law want remanded and to be reformed for various reasons.

The Controller of Prison, Mr. Patrick in his closing remarks referred to the Police and the Prison Services as part of the triangular judicial system in Nigeria. He welcomed the Compol and especially the jinx he has broken that over 25 years, no Commissioner of Police has deem it fit to visit the Prison Service.
 
The Deputy Controller in his remark said the visit is an indelible mark in the Prison Service and they will like to continue the relationship.
