Goodluck Jonathan, will be having his declaration for 2015 campaign and
presidential election in Lagos State today, tens of thousands of Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) members across the South West are to converge on the
Tafawa Balewa Square grounds in Lagos for the flag-off of the South West
re-election campaign. Goodluck Jonathan is expected in Lagos today for a MEGA
campaign rally and it is expected as usual to be gridlocks, bumper to bumper, Go-Slow
mode, traffic jam, Hold-ups, lockdowns, and all sorts of appellations for
traffic snarls.
However
important this may seems to the politicians, it is not a good omen for some
businesses for which PROFIT and PRODUCTIVITY is largely determined by TIME. As
we all know generally, wages is basically paid by time, so also is productivity
determined by time.
Similarly, Time
management is the lifeblood of any successful business. If you start the day
with a prioritized To Do List, learn to delegate and wipeout any Time
Constraints and you will see your bank account grow and have more time for
yourself and your family!

how you manage your time during this electioneering
campaigns across the states
of the federation.
Use these following tips to manage your time effectively,
1. TO DO LISTS: Have a to-do list of
your daily activities before you set out for the day’s work. However, if your
line of business is WORK-AT-HOME it is better to plan ahead if you intend to do
anything in the town.
2. PRIORITIZE YOUR MOVEMENT: If there is
no need for you to be physically present in a particular place avoid it totally
at this election campaign period. You can make use of the dispatch and courier
firms to save the stress.
3. RESCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS: If you have
got some appointments that can be rescheduled to later date it is better to
explore the option so as to have more time to do other thing.
4. TRAFFIC RADIO: Try to listen to the
traffic radio as much as you can. They usually give minute-by-minute report of
traffic situations across Lagos and Ogun state, although I don’t know of other
major towns and cities in Nigeria.
5. NETWORK WITH FRIEND AND FAMILIES:
Make sure you have numbers of your friend, clients, colleagues and families
ready to call for information in case you need to visit a particular area and
you are not sure if it is a no-go area at that point in time.
6. MAKE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Learn
to be conversant with alternative routes as this will be helpful in times like
this.
7. MAKE USE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT: If you
think entering a public transport will not affect your health and status, I suggest
you adopt this tactic for the time being.
8. RAILWAY OR FERRY SERVICE: Our railway
and ferry services are beginning to take a new look, try to make use of either
of them if it passes through your route.
9. MAKE USE OF THE STAFF BUS: For those
whose company provide staff bus, it is cost effective and cheaper to go with
the staff bus at this critical moment of election.

AVOID
BEING IN HURRY WHILE ON THE ROAD: It is everybody’s civic responsibility to
exercise a reasonable level of care to other road users, as a result of this
you need to be careful while driving to avoid unnecessary incident of traffic
bottlenecks caused by impatience.
Don’t drink and drive, obey all traffic rules, avoid over-speeding.
