UNEMPLOYMENT AND INCOME INEQUALITY: BUHARI WILL NOT PERFORM IF HE FAILS TO ADDRESS THESE BURNING ISSUES.

Nigeria sets target for 2017 cassava production
The agricultural ministry of Nigeria has announced its target to
produce 51mn metric tonnes of cassava in 2017.
Cassava is the Third largest source of food carbohydrates in Africa, after rice and maize
Akinwunmi Adeshina, Nigeria’s minister of agriculture, said, “In 2014, 38mn metric tonnes of cassava was produced in Nigeria. Our target for 2017 is to reduce the cost of production and this varies with locations within Nigeria.
We want to reduce cost by giving out improved varieties to farmers, which we have been doing in the last three years.”The federal government had a bulk sum of about US$22.3mn deposited with the Bank of Industry, which it is going to use to support and upgrade equipment for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) producing cassava flour, Adeshina added.
The Ministry stated that quality management training will be introduced in terms of skill development and business development to improve upon capacity of the existing SME.According to the minister, the

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN: A CAPTAIN OR CAPTIVE?
I have come to the conclusion that
politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians. ~Charles de
Gaulle….
The above
famous quotes by a former French general, resistant, writer and statesman and
leader of Free France and the head of the Provisional Government of the French Republic sums up the outcome of the general elections held in Nigeria on the 28th
March and 11th April, 2015.Were it not for the resolve of the masses
to partake in the electoral process starting from the Voters registration
exercise, collection of permanent voters card and the patience, tolerance,
fortitude and enduring self-control exhibited during the electioneering
campaign where political hate speeches, Violence during election and the
ORUBEBE Scare at the INEC Collation center in Abuja almost threw the country
into another Civil War of sort, however, as the turbulence gather dust and
generated a quantum of heat and volcanic magma, the people of Nigeria became stronger
and united in our Diversity.
Consequently,
May 29th 2015, will be another significant turning point in the
history of this conglomeration called Nigeria. It is a day many have looked up
to as a reckoning moment in the quest for hope, succor and a better Nigeria.
The incumbent PDP led government headed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
will be transferring the baton of power to the Amiable President-Elect, General
Muhammadu Buhari, whose emergence the common man has seen as divinely ordained.
Political pundits have however raised a poser as to the status of the outgoing
President during his almost 6years stint as the President and Commander-in-Chief
of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, the most powerful and
populous black nation in the World. Some say, President Jonathan is a CAPTAIN
of a Giant Ship but lacks the navigational experience and clues to steer the
ship to greatness while some other opinions has it that President Jonathan is a
CAPTIVE in Aso-Rock where he just gave his nod to all advises and suggestions
given to him by the CABALS surrounding him at the corridor of power. In the
light of these foregoing some issues have been raised and these issues will
serve as a checklist for the incoming APC administration, should they fail to
buckle up, Nigerians will equally wait for them at the poll to show them the
power of the BALLOTS.
In civilized
and advanced political settings, a President of a country will stand tall and
be firm and resolute in the handling of the affairs of the nation as a Leader
and a good CAPTAIN, but Jonathan however, was carried away with the status of
the President and not the function and performance attached to that office.
Here are some of the areas Jonathan failed to take the bull by the horn:
1. FUEL CRISIS: According to the All
Progressive Congress (APC), it said the real causes of the debilitating fuel
scarcity across the country are the looting of the $12 billion domestic gas
fund under President Goodluck Jonathan’s watch, the Administration’s failure to
pay fuel subsidy and the cost of interests on bank loans to oil marketers, thus
making it impossible for them to begin another round of importation of refined
petroleum products (The News). And with the ongoing fuel scarcity coupled with epileptic
and worsening power supply in the past weeks, Nigerians face another round of
government-imposed hardship until a messiah comes. Could this be a punishment
from President Jonathan for failing to get our votes at the ballots?
2. JOB LOSS: Going by the prevailing
macro-economic indicators, particularly the plunge in oil prices, which
ultimately put the value of the naira on a downward slide, pushing up prices of
basic raw materials for production, this has forced companies across the
sectors to resort to lay-off of hundreds of workers to cut cost. Similarly, the
issue of capital flight has created a vacuum in the Foreign Direct Investment
portfolio of the nation resulting in mass sack in almost every sector of the
economy. The immigration recruitment tragedy where lives were lost as well as
scores of injured applicants in the supposed recruitment scam will remain
evergreen in the history of job scandals. Until the event of the immigration
job scandal, I had only thought job scam was synonymous with the private
sectors but Jonathan administration has proven otherwise.
3. EPILEPTIC POWER SUPPLY: About four
years ago, this statement was made by the outgoing President. “If I’m voted into power, within the
next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years
is enough for anyone in power to make a significant improvement and if I can’t
improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything…” Four
years after, despite the huge investment and budgets provided for the revamping
of the power sector, what we can infer from the charade called Electricity
reform is incessant drop in power generation due to shortage of gas supply or
as a result insufficient hydro source of energy. Apparently, corruption is the
main clog in the wheel of progress in the power sector. We were told that our neighbor
Ghana once celebrated one year of uninterrupted power supply, will our
generation ever witness such feat?
4. OVERBEARING DEBT BURDEN: According to
Business News, the debt profile of both the Federal Government and the 36
states of the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory rose by
N1.2tn in one year, statistics obtained from the website of the Debt Management
Office in Abuja showed. The statistics further showed that the nation’s total
public debt rose from N10.04tn as of December 31, 2013 to N11.24tn by December
31, 2014. Also, Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the Federal
Government has borrowed about N473billion to pay salaries and fund the 2015
budget. With all these huge exposures, has Jonathan administration not mortgaged
the future of this country?
5. MONUMENTAL LEVEL OF CORRUPTION:
Should General Muhammadu Buhari decide to tackle only the corruption virus bedeviling
this nation, I am religiously certain 8 years won’t be enough to wipe the
scourge. Nigeria has for

The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday in Abuja said he would shift attention from oil to agricultural and mining sectors to create jobs.
Mr. Buhari said this while receiving Northern Elders led by a former diplomat, Maitama Sule.
He said he would address the problem of unemployment as it was one of the biggest challenges facing the nation.
He said he would address the problem of unemployment as it was one of the biggest challenges facing the nation.
”The biggest message is to try and persuade the people that it is not possible to change the state of affairs now.
”It took 16 years and those 16 years, most of you know it better than myself, Nigeria earned revenue more than what it earned from 1914 till then.
”In the economy, we have to quickly turn to agriculture and mining because that is where you can do the quickest work and earn results.
”In other areas, you need to study them and dust all the books and studies and get people, experienced people, committed people, technocrats to come and help the government.

How to Register Your Business/Company/Incorporated Trusteeship/Religious Organizations with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2 weeks or less.
Dear
Readers,
A
Big THANK you for reading this free report. I am very sure that after reading
this free report you will worry less as to how to go about a formal
incorporation with the CAC. I will be revealing to you the details in
formalizing a name with the corporate affairs commission in 3 weeks or less.
The Corporate Affairs
Commission (The body responsible for registering of businesses) was established
by the companies and allied matters act, which was promulgated in 1990 to
regulate the formation and management of companies, formalizing incorporated
Trusteeships, registration of schools, religious organizations, NGO’s, etc in
Nigeria.
The establishment of
the Corporate Affairs Commission as an autonomous body was as a result of the
perceived inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the erstwhile Company Registry, a
department within the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Tourism which was then
responsible for the registration and administration of the repealed Companies
Act of 1968.
For
instance, if you want to register a business name, you can do it in two ways.
One is to engage the services of a lawyer or Business consultants in CAC
matters and they will get it done for you with about N20,000- N25,000.
The
second way to get your business name registered is to do it YOURSELF. Yes,
you can walk into any State Office of the Corporate Affairs Commission and get
your business registered.
The
trouble with this is that if you do not know the secrets of going
about it, you will spend months trying to get your business name registered.
And I've not even considered those that will be asking you for bribe before you
get your business done. This report will reveal the secrets to you.
BUT
WHY DO YOU EVEN NEED TO HAVE A CORPORATE NAME
Benefits
attached to having a corporate name are so numerous but I will highlight few
here.
·
It gives you a
self esteem
·
It is an identity
·
It is an
investment for the future
·
It can give you
freedom
·
It is easier to
raise fund as a business than individual
·
It is a way to
create a brand name for marketing purpose
·
etc.
The
First Thing You Should Do
Once
you are ready to register your business name with the Corporate Affairs Commission,
the first thing you should do is to go to their office nearest to you.
Take
a look at some of their offices.

Domestic Workers/Servants, Housemaids, Babysitters, and House-helps: Can You Really Trust Them Anymore?
If only I
could have access to interview one or two domestic servants, housemaids,
babysitters or House-helps before typing this narration, the article would have
been balanced from the two sides of the divide. Nevertheless, that will not
deter me from shedding light on the phenomenal cause of domestic abuses going
out of fashion between the supposed Domestic Servants (the term I will use
interchangeably for all the aforementioned category of workers) and the
Almighty ‘Oga’ and ‘Madams’. According to Wikipedia, A domestic worker is a
person who works within the employer's household. Domestic workers perform a
variety of household services for an individual or a family, from providing
care for children and elderly dependents to housekeeping, including cleaning
and household maintenance. The term Domestic Servants refers generally to all
categories of employees saddled with the responsibility of taking care of house
chores in exchange for remuneration/wages. These House chores could be:
1. Cleaning of the House
2. Baby-sitting
3. Cooking
4. Laundry
5. Gardening
6. Running Errands
7. Elderly Care
8. Pet Care
9. Personal Assistance
10.
General
Maintenance.
This is the
concept of Domestic Servants in the Stone Age era, Colonial and Modern Day
Practice;
Ancient World Slavery
Slavery
seems to have been a common practice in many ancient societies such as Egypt,
China and the Middle East. Most slaves originated from the spoils of war, kidnap
or voluntarily to pay for debts. The treatment of slaves varied in the ancient
world, but in most cases slaves were the property of the master, with little or
no rights or status. This meant that many were treated harshly, although most
ancient societies had some laws to regulate slavery, such as the Babylonian
Code of Hammurabi (1750 BC).
Slavery allowed in the Old Testament.
Some people
are shocked that slavery was an accepted practice in the Old Testament.
However, it must be remembered that the slavery sanctioned in the bible is very
different to the slavery that occurred in the Americas in the 17th and
18th Centuries which is perhaps the popular view of slavery. Old Testament
treatment of slaves was also generally more humane than the slavery practiced
in other ancient civilizations.
In Roman
society the experience of slaves varied depending on their master and the work
assigned to them. Some slaves were made to work hard and could be disciplined
ruthlessly for minor mistakes, whilst others placed in large villas could have
little work to do and were well looked after. Sometimes rich masters kept more
slaves than necessary to display their wealth. It is estimated that at the time
of Augustus, the richest 5 per cent of Roman citizens owned 1 million slaves;
another 2 million slaves were employed elsewhere out of a total population of
7.5 million. Reference…..David
Meager http://archive.churchsociety.org/
In Islamic
law, the topic of slavery is covered at great length.[1] The Quran (the holy
book) and the hadith (the sayings of Muhammad) see slavery as an exceptional
condition that can be entered into under certain limited circumstances.[2] Only
children of slaves or non-Muslim prisoners of war could become slaves, never a
freeborn Muslim.[3] They also consider manumission of a slave to be one of many
meritorious deeds available for the expiation of sins.[4] According to Sharia,
slaves are considered human beings and possessed some rights on the basis of
their humanity. In addition, a Muslim slave is equal to a Muslim freeman in
religious issues and superior to the free non-Muslim.[5]
In practice,
slaves played various social and economic roles, from Emir to worker. Slaves
were widely employed in irrigation, mining, pastoralism, and the army. Some
rulers even relied on military and administrative slaves to such a degree that
they seized power. However, people did not always treat their slaves in
accordance with

What is the Government really doing about this news of oil prices further crashing?
FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE: THIS BELIEF CAN DRIVE YOUR PASSION TO START A BUSINESS OF YOUR OWN.
In this day
and age, more and more employees maintain they should be provided an
unqualified legal right to refuse work activities that violate their ethical,
moral, personal, or religious convictions or beliefs—in short, their
conscience. This assertion has become one of the more controversial issues
confronting the labour force. However, the Global economic crisis and weak
labour laws/policy has made the employers of labour to be so powerful that
casual workers abound in every countries of the world. As a matter of fact, how
does FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE propel the knack for a successful start-up business?
According
to Thesaurus, Freedom of thought is the right to hold unpopular ideas.
Also,
legally (law), any basic right or freedom to which all human beings are
entitled and in whose exercise a government may not interfere (including rights
to life and liberty as well as freedom of thought and expression and equality
before the law).
According
to Wikipedia it defines freedom of conscience as the freedom of an individual
to hold or consider a fact, viewpoint, or thought, independent of others'
viewpoints. It is different from and not to be confused with the concept of
freedom of speech or expression.
More
recently, efforts to ensure that people could not be forced to facilitate
practices or procedures to which they object for reasons of conscience have
expanded to the general workforce. Like religion in the workplace, the
conscience trend presents an extraordinary challenge to employers. The broad
definitions of conscience that are offered both in existing law and in pending
legislation, mean that employers will face an increasing challenge regarding
how they choose to conduct their business. A recent experience actually
triggered this write up, I actually had a client who need the service of a
website developer to build a user interface Dating Site, and for the little
knowledge I have acquired in Software Marketing I already knew what functionalities
the Dating site requires. I promptly called a guy whom I knew could do the
magic and he in return asks to speak with the client in question,
unfortunately, the deal couldn’t be brokered because the FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE
is at play. The guy who was supposed to develop the website declined the job
because it is in conflict with his belief as a Jehovah Witness member. This job
was easy to reject because the Website developer is the owner of his business
and could possibly dictate what kind of offer to accept and reject should a
case of conflict of interest arose.
There are
many factors responsible for the triggering of FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE, such
factors could be:-
1. Religious Inclinations
2. Cultural Beliefs
3. Societal Values
4. Government Legislations
5. Work Ethics and Rules
6. Personal Beliefs and convictions
7. Mental and Psychological Dispositions
8. Free Will
The
Overriding effect of FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE can be juxtaposed based on these two
approaches. The first is the “free market” method. In this approach people should
consider possible conflicts between their conscience and workplace demands
before taking a job. Accepting the job is accepting to do whatever the job
entails irrespective of one’s beliefs, and the employer owes no duty to try to
comply with those beliefs.
The Second
approach is to really find out why being an entrepreneur is much better than a j-o-b. When you’re an
entrepreneur, you get to set the goals, you get to choose the direction your
business takes and which projects will be the best fit for your endeavor.
Running your own business
allows you the freedom to change directions, work your own hours, and avoid the
frustrating commute and the knowledge that you never have to worry about being
laid off again due to your FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE.
I personally
belong to the group of people who believes this freedom of conscience phenomenon
can serve as a guide to starting a business of your own if painstakingly
managed. We are in a world where everyone has the right to freedom of thought,
conscience and religion. Therefore I strongly believed that if this freedom of
conscience is universally proclaimed, more and more people will venture into entrepreneurship
as a means of livelihood.

Top 3 Causes For Procrastination
Skill Deficiency
One of the most common reasons for procrastination is the lack of ability. Completing tasks often requires certain skills from an individual. Having no related skills of any sort that would aid in the completion of the task would make it seem impossible to even begin. Most often, skill related problems leading to procrastination are solved by addressing what the actual problems are. Seeking professional help or counseling often aids greatly in addressing these concerns.
Lack Of Interest
No matter how awesome anything is to you, if someone else don’t find interest in it they never will. Lack of interest will lead people to avoid tasks that are not in their favorable list. If in case you are subjected to complicated tasks, the best way to approach it is to put your feelings aside and simply do it. Doing it without any mental burden of not liking it will greatly reduce the chances of procrastination.
Lack Of Motivation
There is often a misconception about how motivation works. Most of the time people think that they need to be motivated first before doing tasks. But how about unpleasant tasks? Tasks like shoveling snow in the freezing cold, raking leaves in fall, or doing taxes. These tasks are not the most pleasant of tasks but people still do them. Why? Motivation really comes after the task has been started. Once the ball start rolling, the desire to complete it can be enough motivation to keep going.
These examples are only some of the many reasons why people start procrastinating. As you can see, curing procrastination takes a lot of determination and is not for the faint of heart. Just always remember that there is no great task without a great person and that individual could be you.

UN-HEALTHY RIVALRY: WHAT APC AND PDP ARE NOT TELLING NIGERIANS.
If the
general election had been held on February 14th 2015 Nigerians would
have known who their next President is, but the power that be coupled with some
administrative laxity on the part of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
decided to shift the date till March 28th 2015. The power-play and
propaganda witnessed during the campaign period is enough to throw the country
into confusion but majority of Nigerian populace has grown thick skin to the unpleasant
antecedents of the political class. In this article, my major concern is not to
juxtapose the strength of the two major political parties but to bring to the
fore one of the key sector of the economy ignored by the political gladiators
in their campaign and that key factor is not other than HEALTH SECTOR.
Let me start
with the age long saying that ‘HEALTH IS
WEALTH’ and as we all know that without fitness, health and agility the body is
just like a car without an engine therefore it could hardly perform optimally.
I have been following up with the camaraderie and deceptions in the name of
campaigns and manifestos by the PDP and
APC respectively, the greater part of their message is centered upon
taking over power and retaining power at all cost from one another. To whom
much is given, much is expected, Nigerians do not expect less from Government
in certain areas of social welfare like Health, Security, Electricity, Basic Education,
Road and other basic infrastructures. Therefore it will not be too much to ask
the Government at all levels to provide FREE medical services to all the
citizens of this great nation considering the vast and abundant wealth at our
disposal, also taking into cognizance the colossal thievery and corruption
going on in the corridor of power, this amount in billions of dollars are either
being stolen, siphoned, laundered, mismanaged and corruptly diverted into
private pockets of our leaders is enough to provide FREE MEDICAL CARE for
everyone in this Nation. However, our leaders both the present FG led by the
PDP and the opposition parties largely led by APC are complacent on this issue
by not providing enough for the Health system to function effectively.
PATRICK SAWYERR
of Liberia really expose the lag in the Health management system of this
country when he came with the EBOLA virus into the country last year August 2014,
save for the fire brigade approach of the Lagos State Government, Nigeria would
have been worst hit by the lethal virus. According to the World Health Organization
